Virtual Concert: That’s d’Amore!
Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 5:00pm
Rescheduled from November, our baroque band, Ensemble Leonarda (Susan Graham, flute; Claire Smith Bermingham, violin; Cullen O’Neil, gamba; Nancy Kito, harpsichord) giving a virtual concert Sun. Feb. 20 at 5pm. It will be live-streamed on Facebook Live, YouTube, and Twitch. We’re teaming up with Dan McCarthy, who will be showcasing his viola d’amore. ICYMI, it has 12 strings which is quite something; 6 strings play, the 6 below vibrate sympathetically. We’ll also be playing selections for the 10 year anniversary of our Boston Early Music Festival Fringe Concert (TTW I got a musicologist, a baroque band, and 2 singers to Boston and back). Who knows, I might open with a Dean Martin cover…
Music of Graupner, Ariosti, Dornel, & Corrette. Who’s in?
‘Twill be interesting to see early music via virtual technology. Back in the baroque era, they didn’t have mics. Heck, they had gut strings!
